Timothy Wayne Green

Timothy Wayne "Tim" Green, 65, of Eustis, Florida, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024. Born in Eustis to the late Harold & Inez (Hall) Green, he was a lifelong Floridian who graduated from Umatilla High School in 1977 and from the University of Florida in 1981. He was a Landscape Architect and was a member St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mount Dora. His work for the church was an important part of his life. He served in many capacities at St. Mary of the Lakes in Eustis and St. Patrick in Mount Dora. His 30+ years working with the youth were a joy for him as he participated in many retreats and mission trips impacting countless young people in their faith journeys. He served the church as member and chairman of the St. Patrick parish council. He was an accomplished woodworker having shared much of his work with family and friends. He served the Lake County community as a member of the Mount Dora Lions Club where he served a term as president and was named Lion of the Year and a Grand Lion. He served on the Golden Triangle YMCA Board of Directors as a member, as Chairman, a youth basketball coach, and received a Central Florida YMCA Leadership Award. He served on the Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for 20 years and on the Chamber Alliance of Lake County. He served on the Umatilla High School Advisory Council, Triangle Elementary Advisory Council, Lake County School Board Northeast Long Range Planning Committee, and was inducted into the Lake County Schools Hall of Fame for his outstanding contributions to this world as a homegrown Lake County citizen. His professional associations included President of Green Consulting Group, Inc., the American Society of Landscape Architects, the American Institute of Certified Planners, The American Planning Association, US Green Building Council, and the Florida Planning and Zoning Association.   Most importantly he was an incredible husband, father, grandfather, and friend to so many people. He will be greatly missed. Tim is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carolyn Bowron Green of Eustis, FL; son, Matthew (Shelby) Green of Leesburg, FL; 3 brothers, Danny (Nancy) Green of Linville Falls, NC; Michael (Joey) Green of Dona Vista, FL; Mark Green of Altoona, FL; and granddaughter, Meredith Green.  A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mount Dora on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 9:00 AM. The family will receive friends for a Wake Service at the church Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM.
