Shirley June Johnson, born on October 18, 1940, passed away on September 24, 2025, at the age of 84. She was a resident of Glendale, Arizona.
June graduated from Farmington High School in 1959 and continued her education at Browing Business School in Albuquerque, NM.
Her long career in accounting followed with well-known employers over the years, Four Hills Country Club, Alvarado Hotel, and Sandia National Laboratory in Albuquerque, NM. She followed her husband Richard Owen Johnson in retirement in 1994 from Sandia. They chose to move to Tavares, FL Fox Run retirement community where they both enjoyed their next 20 years. They both actively participated in their First Southern Baptist Church of Eustis, cruising, boating, and fishing on the lake in the area. June was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi for 62 years and The Red Hat Society for 10 years, holding many officer positions.
June was preceded in death by parents, Herbert Lee and Laura Jean Reames of Albuquerque, NM. Her husband of 35 years, Richard Owen Johnson. She is survived by sister Joann Carungno, Peoria, AZ. Brenda Kay Sedden (Wally), Albuquerque, NM. Nephew Michael Carugno (Tina), Peoria, AZ. Nephew Allen Carugno, Phoenix, AZ. Her much-loved extended family Stepchildren Allison Spak, Clayton Johnson. Grandchildren; Maggie Spak and Zolton Spak (Candice), Great Grandchildren Merci Blakey and Ember Spak, all of Yankton, SD.
Services for June will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 10:30 AM. She will be interred beside Richard at Tavares Cemetery, Tavares.
