Ralph S. Cerney, Jr., 75, of Umatilla, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024. Born in Key West, Florida, he moved to Lake County about 20 years ago. Ralph retired from the US Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel after serving during both Vietnam and Desert Storm. Upon retirement he worked as a seasonal cast member at Walt Disney World for 18 years. He was a member of the Military Officers Association, Eustis Elks Lodge, Umatilla Kiwanis Club and Altoona Methodist Church. Ralph had recently begun volunteering for AdventHealth Waterman driving visitors in the golf cart. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary A. Cerney, Umatilla, FL; son, Charlie (Dawn) Cerney, Umatilla, FL; daughter-in-law, Andrea Cerney, South Lyon, MI; brother, Gary (Suzanne) Cerney, Fairfax, VA; 3 grandchildren, Logan (Karley) Cerney, Anderson Cerney, Alexandra Cerney; as well as other extended family & friends. Ralph was preceded in death by his son, Curtis Cerney and parents, Ralph Sr and Kathryn Cerney. Services will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Military interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:00 till 11:00 AM.
