At precisely 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 10, 2025, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Jeanette Ann “Jeanie” Haustein, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior. She is now joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Norman, and all those who entered Heaven before her.
Early Life
Jeanette was born on May 8, 1936, to Elmer and Ann Frick. She was raised in Michigan and graduated in 1955 from Clarkston High School, beginning a life marked by both hard work and community service.
Career
Shortly after graduation, Jeanette began working at GMC Truck & Coach Engineering in Pontiac, MI, where she remained until her retirement in 1975. She was known for her diligence, professionalism, and loyalty to her work family.
Family
On June 22, 1957, Jeanette married Allen Ream Biles, and together they had one son, Allen. Jeanette and Allen R. were divorced in early 1974. In late November of 1974, Jeanette met Norm Haustein. They dated and subsequently lived together until November 25, 1978, when she married Norman Eugene Haustein. Norm became the great love of her life. Their marriage was filled with devotion, laughter, joy and LOVE until Norm’s passing in June 2018. In 2021, Jeanette moved with her son Allen from Naples to Eustis, Florida, where they shared a warm and loving home. They embraced these years together, cultivating friendships and embarking on adventures. In 2022, Allen took Jeanie on a remarkable 90 day, 13-state, 11,000-mile trip, filled with visits to friends and family, a surprise stop at the Judy Garland Museum in Minnesota, and memorable days hiking in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. These moments—filled with laughter, good food, and joy—became cherished treasures in Jeanie’s later years.
Service & Volunteer Work
Jeanette dedicated much of her life to volunteer service. From 1997 to 2025, she served faithfully with the Naples Women’s Club (GFWC), holding positions as President and later as a Sustaining Member. She was a devoted member for over 25 years and Past President of Naples P.E.O. Chapter HV, an organization committed to women’s education and empowerment. In her final years, she joined the Golden Triangle P.E.O. Chapter "C" in Eustis, where she quickly became loved and valued by her sisters. Her commitment to service reflected her generous heart and her belief in lifting others through education, community, and kindness.
Legacy
Jeanette is survived by her loving son, Rev. Allen Biles, Sr.; her 5 living grandchildren Allen, Steven, Christopher, Kevin, and Lydia; and her 21 great-grandchildren, with her first great-great grandson joyfully expected October 1, 2025. She also leaves behind her dear sister, Marlene Torretti, and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and “adopted family members” who knew her as “Mama,” “Mom,” “Grandma,” “Aunt,” “Sister,” and—most importantly— “Friend.” She was preceded in death by her husband Norm, grandchildren Adam and Andrea, her parents Elmer and Ann, her sisters Joyce and Sharon, her brothers Ronald, Gerald, Roger, Melvin, Marvin, and Milton, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Though we will miss her earthly presence, her legacy will live forever in the countless lives she touched.
