Gwyneth Carroll Means of Mount Dora, Florida passed away on April 29, 2025, at her home of 45 years in Mount Dora Florida. Born March 18,1936 in Auburndale, Florida to Louie and Flossie Carroll, Gwen attended Roseborough Elementary and Christian Home and Bible School (CH&BS) graduating with the Class of 1954. She married Vernon Means of Wildwood, Florida, on September 7, 1954, at West Main Street Church of Christ in Leesburg, FL. Shortly after their wedding, they moved to Searcy, Arkansas, where she supported Vernon as he completed his college education at Harding University.
Gwen was a faithful and devoted wife and homemaker for her husband Vernon and their four children over their seven decades of serving the churches of Christ in Central Florida and CH&BS. Gwen lived a life of faith and service to her family and church. She was a member of the Orange Ave. Church of Christ for 45 years. Gwen loved to sew for her family and was known for her gift of hospitality and her beautiful singing voice.
Gwen is preceded in death by her father Louie Carroll, mother Flossie Carroll and sister, Mackie Boddy. Gwyneth is survived by her husband of 70 years, Minister Vernon Means, of Mount Dora, FL; children, Renee Means of Mount Dora, FL, Chandler (Sheri) Means of Franklin, TN, Kent (Raylyn) Means of North Richland Hills, TX, and Michelle Bevill of Mount Dora, FL; brother, Jeff (Ann) Carroll of North Richland Hills, TX; sister, Ardeth (Jimmie) Benson of Montgomery, AL; brother-in-law, Charlie Boddy of Deatsville, AL; grandchildren Tori Rath (Levi); Carli Parker (Brett) Kellyn Means, Chaney Dykes (Casey), Elizabeth Brodsky (Jeff) Will Means (Katy), Raleigh Bevill, Weston Means, Coleman Bevill (Faith) as well as 11 Great-Grandchildren.
Services will be held at Orange Avenue Church of Christ, 1511 E Orange Ave, Eustis, FL 32726 on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Wildwood. The family will receive friends at the Orange Avenue Church of Christ, Eustis on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM.
