Daniel A. Malone

Daniel A. Malone, 85, of Rockford, MI, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024 at his winter residence in Leesburg, Florida. Daniel was born in Belding, Michigan, he and his wife, Carol, have been wintering in Florida since 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Monica Malone, brother John Malone, sister Karen and brother in law Lawrence Schoenborn and sister in law Joan Malone.

Dan is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Carol A. (Wolotira) Malone of Rockford, MI; two Sons, Dennis (Rebecca) Malone of South Haven, MI and David (Brenda) Malone of Huntington Beach, CA; three Daughters, Debbie (Brian) Nielsen of Sidney, MI; Diane Malone of Rockford, MI and Cindy (Todd) O'Dell of Melbourne, FL; three Brothers Patrick Malone of Rockford, MI; Bob Malone of Leesburg, FL and Brian (Nancy) Malone of Ann Arbor, MI; Special Sisters in law Nancy Wolotira and Kris Malone; Mooney family Step-brothers and Sisters; as well as six Grandchildren and four Great-Grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and cherished friends in Michigan and Florida.

Before retiring Dan was a deputy assessor for Grattan and Courtland township. Long time member of the Grattan fire department and first responder. He loved growing up and living in Parnell as part of the Irish community. He liked being part of the festivals, horse shows, the Parnell softball team, parades and parties at the lake. He enjoyed fishing, vintage cars, mowing the lawn and most importantly spending time with his family, children and grandchildren. Memorial service pending for the summer in Michigan.
