Charles Edward "Chuck" Reagan III
June 19, 1953 — June 9, 2023
Charles “Chuck” Edward Reagan III passed away peacefully into his heavenly home on June 9th, 2023, at the age of 69. He was born June 19th, 1953, son of the late Charles Reagan Jr. and Betty Steinkamp.
Though he resided in Florida the latter part of his life, Chuck was a true Tennessean and Vols fan at heart. He attended the University of Tennessee and was president of the UT singers where he developed a life-long love of music. Chuck would sing (and talk) to anyone that would listen. He believed a song and his guitar were the answer and antidote to all. He was never more serene than when he was in the warm sun singing a tune on the guitar.
Chuck had a sunny, larger than life, disposition. He knew no stranger and embraced everyone he met. He told those he loved “arms around you” before ending every phone call. Chuck had a knack to make any conversation light-hearted and funny, and always offered up a few self-deprecating jokes. He loved his children, Kelsie and Cody, with all his heart and considered them his greatest accomplishment. Chuck enjoyed many wonderful memories with them, such as coaching Cody’s baseball team or singing with Kelsie on his guitar. He spent summers in Townsend showing his children their roots and his love of the water. In fact, you never found Chuck without a cold drink floating down the river. He had a beloved four-legged friend “Archie” whom the kids often joked was his “favorite child.’
Chuck’s humor, love, and presence will be deeply missed by many. He is survived by his mother, Betty Steinkamp; former wife, Toni and their children, Kelsie (Tom) and Cody (Madilyn); grandchildren, Aubree, Gracie, Vallie, and Reagan; his three sisters: Brenda (Steve), Patty, and Cindy “Ralph” (Craig), Sherry and Ronda; as well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
“One day you’ll look to see I’m gone. For tomorrow may rain, so ill follow the sun.”
The family will hold a celebration of life for Chuck on July 8th, 2023, from 4-6pm for anyone who wants to come by and share favorite memories at 8105 Joshua Rd. Knoxville, Tn. 37938.
