William Y. “Bill” Loyd Jr.

William Y. "Bill" Loyd, Jr., 89, of Eustis, FL, beloved husband of Carol, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019. Bill loved God, his family, and his country. He was preceded in death by his father, William Loyd, Sr.; His mother, Gertrude Loyd; and one brother, Ronnie Loyd. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Carol Loyd, Eustis, FL; children, Daniel Loyd, Fernandina Beach, FL; Linda (Mike) Reed, Smithland, KY; Eric (Cary) Ferree, Umatilla, FL; Christina Chabrier, Mascotte, FL; 3 brothers, Kenneth Loyd, Charles Loyd, and Alan (Angie) Loyd, all of Paducah, KY; 1 sister, Lynann (Denny) Woodall, of Marion, KY; 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Paducah, Kentucky, Bill started his professional life as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force serving for 4 years during the Korean war era. He went on to be the National Sales Manager over refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners for Sears Roebuck & Co. Following his time at Sears, Bill and his current wife, Carol owned a small fishing resort on Kentucky Lake and a series of sewing centers in South Florida. Upon retirement they moved from Florida to Cullman, Alabama where they lived for 16 years. In 2013 they moved to Eustis, Florida to be close to family where they became members of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church. Services will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home Chapel, Eustis on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Paducah, KY. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home prior to the service from 1:00 till 2:00 PM.
