Robert L. McAllister

Robert L. McAllister, 96, of Mount Dora, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2020. Born in Reelsville, Indiana, he moved to Mount Dora in 1957 from Brazil, Indiana. Bob served his country in the US Army during WWII being taken Prisoner of War in Germany. After his release, he returned to the US and met the love of his life, Doris McAllister. They were married in 1947. He was a life insurance agent for Western & Southern Life for over 20 years prior to his retirement. Bob was a member of Bay Street Baptist Church, Eustis where he had taught Sunday School for many years and served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the VFW Post 8087 of Eustis. He is survived by his 2 daughters, Karen (Burney) White, Eustis, FL, Kathy (Wayne) Gale, Fort Myers, FL; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Bay Street Baptist Church, Eustis on Monday, November 2, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Interment & Military Honors will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis. The family will receive friends at the Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Sunday evening from 4:30 PM till 7:00 PM.
