Michael Stephen Dempsey

March 29, 1950 — April 19, 2021

Michael Stephen Dempsey age 71 of Eustis, FL was called home to be with our Lord on 4/19/21 from complications from Prostate cancer. Michael was born and raised in Rochester NY. He is predeceased by his mother, Marjorie Burroughs Dempsey. Michael is survived by his classmates from Harding School as well as his friends from Virtual Tourist from throughout the world who provided him with companionship throughout Covid lockdown. Michael is also survived by numerous Drum and Bugle Corps throughout Western NY, including the Magnificent Yankees from Utica NY, the Statesmen from Rochester NY and St Joseph's from Batavia NY and the Rochester Crusaders where he played soprano horn. Michael was at his happiest performing and forging lifelong friends in the Drum Corps activity. Michael excelled in swimming earning him a scholarship to University of Buffalo and later at Cornell University. Michael had an affinity for higher education as well as his love for Rutgers University. Michael was an ardent traveler throughout Europe before settling in Eustis. Michael enjoyed theater and played in the Phantom of the Opera as well as South Pacific to name a few. He loved the Olympics and could memorize statistics and standings for individual Olympians.
