Jamaal Aaron Gilchrist, 29, of Eustis, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022. Born in Asheville, North Carolina, July 17, 1993. He moved to Eustis in 2011 from Asheville. He owned & operated Gilchrist Home Management, LLC. Jamaal was a member of Better in the Spirit Ministries, Asheville, NC & the SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) Support Group. He received his Associates Degree from Lake Sumter State College. He loved gardening, traveling (especially on cruises), and he love to read. He was a talented artist which earned him various awards. Jamaal was very fluent with computers and loved helping to research all kinds of information. He was always seeking to be more knowledgeable. Jamaal is survived by his mother, Bonita Rene Hawkins Gilchrist, Eustis, FL; father, Aaron Charles Gilchrist, Durham, NC; 2 brothers, Nicolas R.C. Gilchrist, Eustis, FL, Desmond Powell, Fresno, CA; uncle, Willie Hawkins, Eustis, FL; 4 aunts, Denise Stevenson, Asheville, NC, Erica Gilchrist, Durham, NC, Carla Gilchrist, Durham, NC, Tammy Bennett, Murphy, NC; grandparents, Hugh & Betty Johnson, Asheville, NC; grandmother, Iris Gilchrist, Durham, NC. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Gilchrist. A Celebration of Jamaal’s Life service will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 5:00 PM. This will be a celebration of his life, not the mourning his death. Please wear festive colors! A second service will be held in Asheville, NC at Better In The Spirit Church on Aug. 6, 2022 at 2pm.
