Irene Ann Vatter-Waller
March 5, 1928 — August 1, 2018
Irene Ann Dennis (Waller) Vatter, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 in Tavares, FL, surrounded by several of her children. She was born March 5, 1928 in Columbus Ohio to the late Fred Dennis and Eleanor Dennis.
She is survived by her children: Terri (Jerry) Lane, Tampa FL; David (Mandy) Vatter, Eustis FL; Jo Ellen “Jodie” (Joe) Conner, Groveport OH; Janet (Joe) Ott, Mount Dora FL; Bernie (Nina) Vatter, Eustis FL. She is survived by eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Joseph B. Vatter; husband of 6 years, William Waller; brother, James P. Dennis; granddaughter, Julia N. Vatter; newborn daughter, Susan Marie Vatter.
Irene will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her family; her compassion and kindness. She was the best example of this to her husband, children, grandchildren, and many friends. Irene’s greatest achievements were being a loving wife and helping her children grow, learn, and mature. When her children were young, she was their biggest advocate, and as adults she was their best friend. She was devoted to her catholic faith and to her prayer life. She was previously a member of Christ the King Church on the eastside of Columbus and later St. Patrick’s church in Florida.

Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, August 16, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 2777 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus OH 43209. The Reverend Father David Schalk, officiating. Internment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 6440 South High St. Lockbourne OH 43137. A gathering will be held after the service at 12:30 pm hosted by the family of Jack Vatter at their family compound, 3441 Winchester Pike (behind Smith Farm Market).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Julia Nora Vatter Technical Fund at the Bay Street Players, PO Box 1405 Eustis, FL 32727, website https://www.baystreetplayers.org/donate or to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
