Helen was very social, she loved traveling, playing the piano, dancing, singing, swimming, fishing, watching game shows and playing all sorts of games. She could beat every one at scrabble and was always ready for a game of poker with her friends. She was a very talented seamstress and for years made draperies with her dear friend Tinka, and sewing and mending clothing with her daughters and her granddaughter Julie. She loved to be around family and adored the grand kids and great grand kids and was blessed with a great-great grandson. She loved watching and hearing all about their sporting events especially the baseball games. She loved to show everyone photos of her grandkids and great grand kids art projects. She taught her grandkids to fish and swim and leaves them with so many good memories. Helen and Bill traveled for many years with the Escapees chapter #27, having some of the best times of her life. She would spend the hours on the road crocheting rugs and hats and purses out of grocery bags from publix and Walmart. They were even officers in their local chapter and helped plan rallys and luncheons with their Escapee friends. She cared so much about her family and always made sure that everyone was happy and healthy. (And if you didn’t have a bowl of ice cream yet she’d make sure you got one). She was there for all of the big moments and we know she will continue to watch over us as we keep moving forward. We sure will miss hearing her play the piano and singing and laughing.
