Dr. Geraldine M. Emerson

Dr. Geraldine M. Emerson, 95, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021. Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, she was a professor for over 34 years at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, working mostly on Cancer Research. She was the President of the Alabama Academy of Science, first female President of UAB Sigma ZI; RSVP Council, Charter Member Umatilla Women's Club; Trout Lake Nature Center; Lake County Horticultural Center; Citrus Farmer and former member of Victory Baptist Church, Eustis. Dr. Emerson is survived by her niece, Kathy Hawkins, Flat Rock, NC; nephew, Eddie Blakely, Nashville, TN. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Dr. Jack D. Emerson; brother, Dr. Gene T.
