George Ramon Celaá

George Ramon Celaá, 74, of Orlando, Florida, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022. Born in Holguin, Cuba, he moved to Orlando in 1974 from Los Angeles, CA. He was a Barber by trade, but George was also a writer of plays and short stories; He was working on one before his passing. Previously George worked in Hollywood as film editor in lighting and sound. One day on set of 20th Century Fox he met John Wayne. Wayne smiled real big and said, ”Glad to meet you tall man” because George was a man John did not have to look down at. George wanted to be an actor and one of his early introductions to acting was in the story of the Headless Horseman as Ichabod Crane in Hollywood; it was a break out performance. George was an artist through and through. George enjoyed painting, sculpting, woodworking, carpentry and building furniture, he once built a 40ft boat out of wood! He is survived by his Sons, Armin Ramon Celaá of Boulder, CO and George Aaron Celaá of Apopka, FL; Brother, Felix "Phil" Celaá, Jr. of Orlando, FL; Niece, Monica D. Jones of Orlando, FL; Granddaughter, Hannah Celaá; and numerous extended family and friends, Services will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends prior to the service from Noon till 2:00 PM. Interment will be held at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Orlando. Memorial donations may be made to Monica Jones.
