Ernest Michael Wood

Ernest Michael Wood (BigFoot), 64, of Eustis, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022. Born in Leesburg, Florida, he graduated from Umatilla High School class of 1976 and lived most of his life in Lake County where he enjoyed to Hunt, fish and play games. He was a Valued employee for Vulcan Materials for 40 years in Weirsdale and was a member of Lake Haven Church, Eustis. He is survived by his wife, Jamie M. Wood of Eustis, FL; son, Richard J.(Sarah) Wood of Umatilla, FL; 2 step-daughters, Dana Ostrom of Leesburg, FL, Avery Curry of Tavares, FL; 5 sisters, Sherie Lindh of Umatilla, Shontina Maya of Van Alstyne, TX, Marla Doyle of Colorado Springs ,CO, Penny Massey of Titusville, FL, Caulene Rogers Shippenburg, Pa; 1 brother Carl Shields Jr, Brunswick, Ga; 8 grandchildren, Brandon, Kyle, Gabrielle, Clay, Reese, Callie, Chase and Ellah. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Shields and Joan Davis. Services will be held at Lake Haven Church, Eustis on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis. The family will receive friends at Harden Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis on Friday evening from 5:00 till 7:00 PM.
