Clyde "C.J." Jewel Arnold

Clyde Jewel Arnold (C.J.) of Grand Island, FL passed away Friday, August 3, 2018. C.J. was born July 31, 1939 to Meryl Eliza Graybeal Arnold and Milburn Felix Arnold of Halls Crossroads in Tenn. where he grew up and attended Salem Baptist Church, and was graduated from Halls High School, Class of 1957. During C.J.’s career with F.W. Woolworth Co., he and his family resided in several locations, the most recent being Chatham, N.J., while at the Main Office in New York City. Upon retirement from F.W. Woolworth Co., C.J. and his wife, Sandy, moved to Grand Island, Fla. where C.J. enjoyed horticulture and restoring automobiles. C.J. is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lula Belle Weaver Graybeal and Harvey Dolphin Graybeal with whom he spent a great deal of his youth. Clyde loved baling hay, working in the apple the orchard and horse trading with spa Graybeal and Uncle will Bright. his paternal grandparents, Minnie Mills Arnold and David Franklin Arnold; his parents, Meryl Eliza Graybeal Arnold and Milburn Felix Arnold; and his brother, Kyle Franklin Arnold. C.J. is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sandra Kay Lientz Arnold, Grand Island, Fla., daughter Annette Irene Flashner, Newfoundland, NJ.; sons Craig Vincent Arnold, Orlando, Fla. and Chad Graybeal Arnold, Wasilla, Alaska.; granddaughters Keziah Jen Arnold, Long Beach, Calif. and Keerah May Arnold, Colorado Springs, Colo.; brother, Berle Arnold, Knoxville, Tenn.; sisters Mary Joyce Wolfenbarger, Martha Irene Arnold-Charnay, Milba Jeannette Cummings, and Esta Mavis Arnold all of Knoxville, Tenn., Millie Rebecca Elrod, Kansas City, Mo.; sister-in-law, Esta Friar Arnold, Knoxville; and many nieces and nephews.
