Bobby Braswell

Bobby Braswell, 65, of Eustis, went to his home in heaven to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 9, 2020. Born in Eustis, Florida, he graduated from Eustis High School Class of 1972. Bobby has been well known here in Lake County for selling literally thousands of used cars to people in this community. He owned and operated Braswell Auto Sales of Eustis, FL. He always tried to be honest with each customer because he hoped he could gain their business in the future (as he did with many families). Bobby had many accomplishments throughout his life but at the top was leading his Little League team the Giants to win the state championship back in 1977. About 11 years ago, Bobby opened up his heart to the Lord. He truly got saved and his life was forever changed. From this point on, life was different for him. He purposed to share his faith with many in a soft and loving way. He attended FBC Umatilla every Sunday and built new relationships. Bobby was a very selfless person, but was never vocal about his giving spirit. Sending a letter to a person, a check in the mail to someone struggling, paying off a vehicle for a person in a bind, or just buying a meal for someone at Sonny’s. He was always looking for a way to bless others. He will be dearly missed by many, but his legacy will continue to be seen around Lake County with every car with a Braswell Auto Sales tag on it, every time a person says Roll Tide when they see a Alabama hat, and of course as his family we lives out his legacy by loving others the way he selflessly loved them. He is survived by his 2 sons, Ty (Anna) Braswell, Sarasota, FL, Brooks (Jaime) Braswell, Umatilla, FL; daughter, Amanda (Adam) Geltz, Yalaha, FL; father, Norman Braswell, Tavares, FL, mother, Margaret Pitré, step-mother, Virginia McKiernan, Apopka, FL; 2 brothers, Ray Braswell, Apopka, FL, Robert (Myrtice) Sykes, Plant City, FL; 3 sisters, Deeta (Nick) Smith, Lisa Miller, Plant City, FL, Jennifer Neal, Umatilla, FL; 14 grandchildren. Bobby loved his children and was passionate about showing love to his grandchildren. “Paw Paw” was always going to a tennis tournament, heading to a dance recital, watching the kids at a church event, or watching Bama football with his family. Bobby loved being surrounded by his grandchildren (and they loved it to because he was so CRAZY). He truly enjoyed fishing, going to the races with his friends, and cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide!! A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held at First Baptist Church of Umatilla on Saturday May 30 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Bobby's name to the Reaching Forward Building Fund @ First Baptist Church, Umatilla, PO Box 3, Umatilla, FL 32784. He never did anything just for himself, so on this day, lets honor him, Glorify Him, and provide comfort to everyone left behind.
