Argith O. Sweat

Argith O. Sweat, 87, of Tavares, passed away Monday, July 22, 2019. Born in Washington, DC, she moved to Tavares in 2011 from Hernando Beach, Florida, where she had lived since 1993. She was a secretary for the Federation of Senior Citizens. Argith was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Eustis. Argith is predeceased by her husbands, Herman William Watts Sr. and Melvin Harold Sweat, and son, Herman William Watts Jr. She is survived by her son, Gerald Craig Watts, Orlando, FL; 2 daughters, Tami Louise Lyons, Eustis, FL, Deborah Jean Van Horn, Smith Creek, FL; brother, Leo Gerald O'Haire, McCormick, SC; and numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren children. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, Eustis on Monday, July 29, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Inurnment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell at 1:00 PM.
