Rita Patricia Hammond

Rita Patricia “Pat” Hammond, age 81 of Tavares, Florida, formerly of Grand Haven, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016. Pat was born July 24, 1935 to Joseph and Thelma (Holman) Abbamonte in Detroit, Michigan. She married Frank Hammond on August 26, 1977. Pat was a member of the PTA for several years. She loved fishing and boating. Pat attended numerous car shows over the years in pursuit of antique cars. Pat is survived by her husband Frank; sons, Tim Woodcock of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jack (Dawn) Woodcock of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Sarah Underhill, Brenda (Jason) Lott and Tara (Rick) Waleri; great granddaughter Isabella Marie Waleri; step-children, Dale (Dick) Underhill of Grand Rapids, Ken Hammond of Rosenberg, TX; sister, Jackie Lindley of St. Helen’s MI; brother, Doug (Mary) Abbamonte of Houghton Lake, MI; sisters-in-law, Mary Abbamonte, Carol Hammond and Elaine (Bernie) Shultz. She was preceded in death by brother, Jim Abbamonte and Jeanne Gibbons. The funeral service for Pat will be 1:00 pm Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home, Grand Haven, MI with Pastor Dan Eisnor officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
