Lois "Pat" Patricia Merrick

Lois “Pat” Merrick died peacefully July 4, 2017 at her home in Eustis, Florida. Pat was born March 17, 1940, the daughter of Mark and Gladys Baldwin in Southfield, Michigan. Pat graduated from Southfield High School in 1957. She also attended Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City.

She is survived by her husband James, children Colette R. Gerding (Bill) of Traverse City, Frederick W. Meinecke (Amy) of Pinkney, Cheryl L. Saxton (Buck) of Interlochen, Thomas M. Meinecke (Lori) of Fowlerville. She is also survived by her brothers Lynus and Cyrell Baldwin and sister Rosemary Ross. Her first husband Walter Frederick Meinecke Jr and her very special brother in law Richard G. Merrick.

Pat retired from Dow Chemical Corp. in 2002. Starting in 2006 she split her time between Interlochen and Eustis, FL. In 2011 she moved to Eustis full time. In retirement she taught herself to be a master quilter, making quilts for each of her eight grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends, especially her “sister” June Gibbons.

Cremation has taken place and no service is planned at her request. Memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice.
