Gerald "Jerry" Choinski

Gerald “Jerry” Choinski, 83 of Grand Island, FL, died on August 11, 2017, beloved husband of 62 years of Lucille Choinski father of Elizabeth, Jeanne, Amy Tom, and Bill. Jerry was a faithful husband, devoted father and adoring grandfather. He is also survived by daughter-in-law Valerie, Sons-in-law Michael, Stephen, John, and Steve and 10 grandchildren. An only child, he is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Elizabeth.
Jerry served in the Navy from 1951-1954 and aboard the USS Lloyd Thomas (DD/DDE-764) in the Mediterranean and Caribbean theaters. After departing the Navy he moved to Buffalo NY becoming an Insurance Salesman and later an Insurance Executive, and rose to the position of Vice President of Lawley Services. In 1984 he was Chairman of the Variety Club of Buffalo- leading the chapter in raising $1.2 million for the Children’s Hospital. He also was the recipient of the Variety Club Man of the Year.
