Dewey Eugene Mueller

Dewey E. Mueller, a proud Marine who loved his country, was born in Flat River, Missouri 80 years ago. He joined the Marines after graduating from high school and made this his first career. During his 20 years as a Marine he was stationed in California, Florida, Okinawa, Japan, Morocco and twice he was in Vietnam. He reached the rank of CWO-3 before retiring in 1973. After retiring from the U.S. Marine Corps, he attended college, earning a Master of Arts Degree in Education and a Master of Science Degree in Instructional Systems from Florida State University. Surviving him are his wife, Alice, daughter Joy of Denver, Co., son Joshua of 29 Palms, CA., stepson Peter Howe (wife Monica), and grandchildren Mitchell & Miranda of Longwood, FL and stepdaughter Dawn Madsen ( husband Clint) of Gillette, WY, 5 half-sisters and 4 half-brothers. Two half-sisters have preceded him in death. During the 25 years after graduating from Florida State University, he worked in Orlando with the following organizations. ADTEC, RCI, Metters, SAIC, and the University of Central Florida as an Instructional Systems Designer/Developer. While in Fort Worth, he designed computer based training materials for the B-1 Bomber. He also spent two years in Panama designing, building, and managing Local Area Networks for the US Southern Command. After retiring for the 2nd time he spent many hours and years doing volunteer work at church wanting to share his computer knowledge with others. A memorial service will be held the First United Methodist Church, Eustis, on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 10:00 AM.
